Welcome back again dear readers (:

In the previous post i had explain about the common eating disorders that teenagers face this days.In this post, i will be explaining about the cause of the problem,& how to have a healthy diet.

Why exactly do teenagers face this problem?

They are influenced by the media, especially girls , who are driven by
the fear of being overweight. For those who are suffering
from eating disorders that makes them gain weight,
they might be stressed up with problems at school or home and might not be able to cope with these problems and soon turn to food which soothes them , at a momentary moment at least.


To improve eating habits

eat at regular times
  • Snack on healthy foods e.g. fruit and cereal bars
  • Eat variety of foods
  • Eat more home cooked meals
  • Pack food from home for lunch ( it saves $$ and is usually healthier! ;-)
Why is it important to eat healthily?

Most of us will not understand the importance of eating healthily but eating healthily helps us in many ways.
  • Gives us energy
  • Maintains and help body tissues
  • Ensure healthy growth
  • Ensure body functions properly
Imagine if we don't eat healthily, our body system will be have a weaker immune system and we will fall sick easily.Although we may think it is not important, it actually is.Hopefully the points we have pointed out makes u realize the importance of eating healthily.

hello! Let me continue from where i stopped.In this post, i will explain about the two eating disorders that is Anorexia Nervosa and Binge eating.

Anorexia Nervosa

->
individuals see themselves as being fat when they are not.

-> hates eating.

-> exercise excessively.

->lead to damage of kidneys and reproductive organs.

-> can cause diverticular disease caused by constipation caused by lack of fibre in diet.

->diverticular disease affects the large intestine as pouches appears.

->can lead to death if not reffered for treatment.

->will look pale and may also suffer from anemia because of lack of iron in diet.

Binge Eating

->eating a lot without stopping even when full.

->feeling lost out of control over how much they eat.

->at first its seems like food may provide comfort to these sufferers but later it will cause distress.

-> often caused by dieting, stressed & coping skills.

->eating more rapidly than usual

-> eat alone because of embarrassment.

-> feels disgust, depression and guilt.

-> common in people who are obese.

-> causes hypertension , diabetes and gallbladder disease.

-> gallbladder disease affects the digestive system as
too much cholesterol content is found in the diet and
causes gallstones to build up in the bile.

Skipping meals, snacking on junk food and eating out frequently.These are the most common eating habits that we teenagers follow.As a member of the YAH ( Youth Advolution of Health ) ,
we are advising you teenagers out there, yes you! on the healthy eating habits and the eating disorders that teenagers face.Although most of us find it unimportant to eat healthily, it actually is as eating unhealthily will cause you health problems in our later life.Some of us may have these unhealthy eating habits under control bud some doesn't.They suffer from eating disorders like Anorexia Nervosa and Binge Eating.In the next post, i will go into these 2 eating disorders.
